Another beast Revelation 13v11-18 His methods
"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is 666." Revelation13v16-18
The details of these verses are truly shocking. Is it possible for a man to so control the entire world by means of a talking image? This kind of thing seems impossible, except when we recall that Adolph Hitler gained total control over the German people by means of introducing a smoking ban. It is called mind control. When we look into these verses, concerning which there has been much speculation, if we take simply the symbolism of scripture, together with the reality of human life and existence, it all becomes more credible. Summarising the verses, this man achieves mind control by introducing control of trade. People will accept anything and anyone that assures their lifestyle. The world system of food control etc. is already in place and we all know it. This man will achieve mind control if you like by stomach control. We have all heard of "butter mountains" and "wine lakes." The beast, the future world emperor, will achieve world domination by the genius of his right hand man in controlling world trade. "That no man might buy or sell save that he had the mark, or the name...., or the number....." .
There have been many attempts to explain the number 666, and none of them without significance. It seems to me this is more information for the people who will be alive at the time rather than speculation for us today. It is stated to be the number of a specific man. The biblical perspective of the number six is as follows: It is the number of man (Adam was created on the sixth day): it is one short of perfection which is number seven: the repetition of the number six three times could refer to the triad of evil which we have described. We know that the image of Nebuchadnezzar was sixty cubits high by six cubits wide and six separate musical instruments were used to proclaim it. It is, as it says the number of a man, and is especially linked with disregard of the God of heaven. I am a great believer that the bible is self interpreting and only twice do we read of this number in scripture in Ezra 2v13 where a man called Adonikam was said to have six hundred and sixty six children. Adonikam means "the Lord is rising" or "the Lord is high." This is man in his pride. Again in 2nd Chronicles 9v13 it was stated that "the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty six talents of gold." This was the tribute paid to Solomon by the territories over which he held sway. Putting those two scriptures together we have a man rising to power together with vast sums of money coming in. This is exactly the picture that we have here, a man achieves world power by means of controlling world resources, and, what was true in a local sense in history will become true globally.
Verse 16 says "he causeth all....to receive the mark." The word causeth" is the same as "exerciseth" in verse 12; it simply means "to make happen." This man, by means of his vast empire, will bring under his domination the entire world; small and great (none too small they won't be noticed, none to great they can't be controlled); the rich and the poor (both ends of the economic spectrum); free and bond (no respecter of status); everyone without exception will become dependent on this beast for their living and the second beast will be the genius behind it all. It matters not what the mark is, whether it be an electronic tag, or implant, or sworn allegiance, or, whatever. One thing it will do is consign those people to eternal damnation because receiving this mark, whatever it is, will involve renunciation of Jesus Christ and pledged allegiance to Satan.
Revelation 14v9-11 "If any man worship the beast and his image and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb........they have no rest day or night who worship the beast and his image and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."
Man in his folly will choose a "safe " temporary lifestyle on earth instead of eternal security in heaven. It's already happening today.
